The Import AHU command opens the Airflow MagiCAD Selection Tool, which helps the user to select the right Airflow air handling unit and export it to MagiCAD for AutoCAD from the selection tool.
When the Import AHU button is pressed the user is asked to select duct connections for the AHU from the current view. The user may select all four AHU related ducts: Supply, extract, outdoor and exhaust but it is also enough to select only the supply and extract ducts. The selection tool will use the air flow and pressure drop values from the ducts for the search criteria of the units in the selection tool. The user accepts the selection with the Finish button from the Revit ribbon panel.
The user can also continue without selecting the any duct connections by pressing the ESC key or with the Cancel button from the Revit ribbon panel.
NOTICE: The usage of the air flow and pressure drop values requires that the ductwork has been balanced with MagiCAD's balancing function. If the user cancels the duct selection or the ductwork is not balanced then the selection has no input values for the search criteria of the units in the selection tool.
Export the AHU
Finally when the user has done the selection and adjustments for the AHU in the project, the unit can be exported to Revit or MagiCAD for Revit.
Export the AHU to plain Revit
When the unit is exported to Revit you place it in the drawing like any othe Revit family.
Export the AHU to MagiCAD for Revit
1. When the unit is exported to MagiCAD for Revit the following Dataset Properties dialog will be shown to the user. The user fills the necessary information in the dialog and continues with the OK button.
2. Next the Product Selection dialog will be shown to the user. The user may see the preview, properties, supply and extract fan diagrams of the unit in the dialog. The user accepts the selection with the OK button.
3. Next the user will place the unit instance to the project. In this phase the user may install one or more instances or stop the installation with the Cancel button or the ESC button.
For each placed instance the user can change the instance settings in the Product Installation dialog. The user accepts the changes with the Apply button or cancels them with the Cancel button.
4. After all the instances are installed to the project, the user ends the installation with the Cancel button or the ESC button.
After the unit has been installed to the project, the user connects the unit to the ductwork and runs the MagiCAD V&P balancing calculation.
