2.1.8. Settings

 
Within the settings menu users can adjust various settings such as the visibility of MagiCAD Selection Tools and proxy-settings.
What settings are available depends on which platform MagiCAD Connect is installed on, and whether it is installed together with MagiCAD for Revit or on plain Revit.

General settings

 
In the general settings you can set the options for how often MagiCAD Connect should check for updates, as well as which of the MagiCAD Selection Tools should be visible.
In plain Revit the market area can be set here. For MagiCAD users this setting is set and read from the MagiCAD project.
 
 
Under the Visibility settings you can toggle the ribbon visibility of the MagiCAD Selection Tools:

Automation settings

 
The Automation settings are currently only available for MagiCAD for AutoCAD and BricsCAD in which products in the Project file can be updated.
 
If this is set on, then MagiCAD Connect will inform the user if a new version of a product in their project has an update available. This notification will be shown to the user once per session.
 
 
The information is displayed at the bottom of the screen:

Proxy settings

 
 
In the proxy settings, you can set your network specific proxy settings.
These settings need only be set if you / your company needs proxies. For your specific proxy settings reach out to your system administrators.
 
On AutoCAD/Revit 2024 and older and on all BricsCAD platform MagiCAD Connect only supports HTTP protocol for proxies
On AutoCAD/Revit 2025 and newer MagiCAD Connect supports HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4, 4a and 5 protocols.
