The “Edit Unit” function is used to edit installed penetration units in a drawing. Each pipe group contains a certain amount of visible penetration unit objects in the drawing.
There is a need for editing in the following cases:
-
The unit related wall or floor thickness is changed.
-
The unit related pipe size and/or material is changed.
-
The unit related pipe assembly is changed. Pipes need to be added to or removed from the unit.
All the changes mentioned above can be simultaneous or individual and the “Edit Unit” function covers them as the changes are in the drawing.
General workflow when editing a unit
When selecting "Edit Unit" the application asks you to show the thickness of the wall or the floor. This will be done in the same way as in the “Insert Unit” function. If there is no need to edit the unit length i.e. the thickness of the wall or floor has not changed, then the selection can be skipped with the ESC button.
Then you select the penetration unit related objects in the drawing to edit.
Tip: Units can be selected one by one or by selecting all at once.
Finally accept the penetration units selection with ENTER key.
Editing the units when the wall / floor or pipes are changed
This help section covers the situation where the wall or floor thickness has changed. It also covers the situation where pipes sizes and/or materials have changed.
Select the wall or floor thickness and penetration units from the drawing like described in “General workflow when editing a unit” chapter.
After this the selection tool web view opens in edit mode.

Editing the units when pipes are removed from the group
This help section covers the situation where pipes are removed from the pipe group going through the wall or floor.
In the example below, one pipe has been removed, but the penetration unit still remains.
Select the wall or floor thickness and penetration units from the drawing as described in “General workflow when editing a unit” chapter.
In the selection tool web view the Pipe size and material section shows the two pipes which are left for the penetration unit.
Apply the changes and the selection tool will remove the redundant penetration unit part from the drawing.
Editing the units when pipes are added to group
This help section covers the situation where pipes are added to the pipe group going through the wall or floor.
Use the Insert function to add the pipe in to a pipe group and penetration unit.
After the Insert function there are two separate penetration units (three objects) for the whole pipe group. To combine all the separate units as one group of units, use the “Edit Unit” operation like described in “General workflow when editing a unit” chapter.
In the selection tool web view the pipe size and material section the three pipes are visible which are selected for the penetration unit.
Apply the changes and edit unit in the drawing. Selection tool will combine all the units as one penetration unit in the drawing.
